Adjacent to Houston’s theater district will lie a new 35-story skyscraper. A mix-use space, 215,000 of its 780,000 square feet of office space will be occupied by Bank of America. With an additional 26,000 square feet of retail space and an 11-level parking garage, the new building holds a great deal of potential for businesses looking for a new location. With the light-rail only a block away, the building will be especially desirable.

Energy Efficient Commercial Real Estate in Houston

The building is being designed to be energy-efficient, so much so it has its sites set on being the first Houston commercial project to reach LEED v4 Platinum pre-certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. It will do this by using 25% less energy than typical facilities. It will feature a green roof, rain harvesting, and high-performance glass.

Skanska is developing the project which began construction in April with an estimated completion for the Q2 in 2019.

At Property Consulting Group, we are excited to see Houston’s recovery coming along and hope more projects like this continue to give Houston commercial property owners a boost.
